Delete your data — Gallery Chameleon

Gallery Chameleon needs no sign-up — there is no password, and we never require your real name. You can play everything without an account of any kind. You may choose a username so friends can find you, you may draw a profile picture, and you may attach Sign in with Apple or Google so your account survives a lost or changed device; all three are optional. This page explains what we hold and how to remove it.
The quickest way to delete everything is in the app: About → Account → Delete my account. It is immediate, and you do not have to contact us.
What we hold
- Hides you have shared. The image you painted, its join code, and the tally of how many players found your character. This includes any hide you submitted to the public gallery.
- Your username and profile picture, if you created them.
- Your friends, groups, and the hides shared in those conversations, if you use those features.
- An anonymous identifier. A random ID created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication so our security rules can require a signed-in request. On its own it is not linked to your real name, email, or any login.
- A sign-in, if you attached one. If you chose Sign in with Apple or Google, we hold the account identifier that provider gives us and, depending on the provider and your choices, the email address associated with it. Apple lets you hide your real address behind its private relay. We use it only to recognise you when you sign in again.
- Crash reports, if the app has crashed: the error message, where in the code it happened, your device's OS version, and the app version.
What you can do in the app
- Delete my account (About → Account → Delete my account) removes everything: your username, your profile picture, your friends and groups, the hides you made, any public gallery entries, any sign-in you attached, and the account itself. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. You do not need to be signed in with Apple or Google to use it.
- Stop sharing a hide (on My Hides) revokes its public join code, so nobody new can open it by code. People you already shared it with in a friend or group conversation keep their copy.
- Delete (on the same card) removes your own copy of a painting from your device.
- Leave any group at any time, and remove or block people you are connected with.
Ask us to delete your data
If you would rather we did it, or you only want part of your data removed — a single shared hide, your profile picture, your username, a public gallery entry, your friends and groups, or everything associated with you — email us:
Tell us what you want removed (for a single hide, include its 4-letter join code; or tell us to delete everything). We will confirm and delete it within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. We may ask you to confirm the request came from you.
You can also use this address to ask us to delete crash reports associated with your device.
Uninstalling the app
Uninstalling deletes every painting saved on your device, and the anonymous identifier if you never attached a sign-in to it. If you did attach Apple or Google sign-in, your account deliberately survives so you can sign back in and recover it — so if you want it gone, use About → Account → Delete my account before you uninstall. Content already shared to our servers is otherwise removed on request as described above.
