Delete your data — Gallery Chameleon
Last updated: 13 July 2026
Gallery Chameleon has no accounts — there is no sign-up, no login, no password, and we never collect your name or email address. So there is no account to delete. What we do hold is described below, along with how to remove it.
What we hold
- Hides you have shared. The photo you painted, its join code, and the tally of how many players found your character.
- An anonymous identifier. A random ID created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication so our security rules can require a signed-in request. It is not linked to your name, email, or any login, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Crash reports, if the app has crashed: the error message, where in the code it happened, your device's OS version, and the app version.
Delete a hide yourself, instantly
In the app, open My Hides and tap Stop sharing on any hide.
This immediately deletes that game and its image from our servers. The join code stops working right away and nobody can open it again.
Your painting stays saved on your own phone, so you keep your artwork. If you want that gone too, tap Delete on the same card and it is removed from your device.
Everything deletes itself after 7 days anyway
Every hide is automatically deleted from our servers 7 days after it is created — the game record and the uploaded image both. This happens automatically, whether or not you ask. Nothing you upload is kept indefinitely.
Uninstalling the app
Uninstalling deletes the anonymous identifier and every painting saved on your device. Any hides still live on our servers will expire on their own within 7 days, or you can remove them with Stop sharing before you uninstall.
Ask us to delete something
If you would rather we did it, or you can no longer access the app, email us:
Include the 4-letter join code of the hide you want removed (or tell us it is all of them). We will confirm and delete it within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. We may ask you to confirm the request came from the person who created the hide.
You can also use this address to ask us to delete crash reports associated with your device.
